What is an Extended Vehicle Warranty?
An Extended Vehicle Warranty, also known as a Mechanical Breakdown Warranty, is not a service plan. Unlike an Extended Service Plan, which covers routine maintenance and scheduled servicing, this warranty protects you against the unexpected failure of major mechanical and electronic components.

What’s covered
Engine
All internally lubricated components including cylinder head, pistons, crankshaft, camshaft and turbocharger.
Gearbox & Transmission
Manual and automatic transmission internals, differential and transfer box.
Turbo & Supercharger
Turbocharger, supercharger, intercooler and associated boost components.
Electronics & ECU
Engine and transmission management systems, fuel injectors, cooling system, steering, and braking system (excluding friction items).
Comfort Systems
Air conditioning, central locking, electric windows, instrument cluster, GPS and multimedia systems.

- Routine servicing and maintenance
- Wear-and-tear items (brake pads, discs, wipers, batteries, tyres)
- Oil leaks and hoses
- Cambelt replacement as scheduled maintenance
- Shock absorbers
- Bodywork, paint, trim, or glass
- Incorrectly fuelled or modified vehicles
- Negligence or improper servicing
How claims work
- Book your vehicle into an approved repairer
- Inform the workshop of your warranty
- The workshop submits the claim
- Authorisation is issued if approved
- Repairs are completed and the administrator pays the workshop directly
If a claim is not covered, you are informed before repairs begin.
Frequently asked questions
Does this warranty cover wear and tear?
No. This warranty covers mechanical breakdowns only. Normal wear and tear items such as brake pads, tyres, batteries, and wiper blades are not covered.
Do I need to service my car to keep the warranty valid?
Yes. Your vehicle must be serviced according to the manufacturer’s schedule at an approved workshop. If your service history is not up to date, a service must be completed within 30 days of policy activation.
Can I take out this warranty if my car is already out of manufacturer warranty?
Yes — this warranty is specifically designed for vehicles at the end of or beyond their factory warranty, including used vehicles.
Are turbochargers and electronics covered?
Yes. Turbochargers, ECUs, engine management systems, and many electronic components are covered, subject to your benefit category and claim limits.
