Honda Extended Car Warranty

Honda owners are loyal — and for good reason. Whether it’s the practical BR-V seven-seater, the sporty ZR-V crossover, the refined HR-V or the reliable Ballade sedan, Honda’s engineering delivers genuine quality. But Honda’s 3-year/100 000 km factory warranty is one of the shorter ones in its class, which means extended warranty cover becomes relevant sooner than on competitors offering 5-year cover.
An extended warranty keeps your Honda protected beyond that factory cut-off — same cover, same peace of mind, fixed monthly cost.

Known Honda failure areas
CVT transmission wear is the most significant documented failure on the Honda BR-V and HR-V. Honda’s CVT is more sensitive to towing and sustained high-load use than the engine itself, and belt/pulley wear at higher mileages can lead to CVT failure. Replacement is expensive and fully covered under extended warranty as a mechanical failure.
Honda 1.5T VTEC Turbo oil dilution — where fuel mixes with engine oil in certain cold-climate conditions — is a documented issue on international 1.5T applications. While the South African climate mitigates this significantly, high-mileage 1.5T engines warrant monitoring. Engine failures arising from oil system issues are covered under extended warranty.
Honda Sensing camera and radar system faults are reported on newer HR-V and ZR-V models. System module failures — not calibration issues from accidents — are covered as electronic component failures under extended warranty.
Water pump seal failures are documented on higher-mileage Honda i-VTEC engines. Coolant loss from a failing water pump seal leads to overheating if undetected; the pump and associated seals are covered under extended warranty.
