Jetour Dashing Extended Car Warranty

The Jetour Dashing is Jetour’s sleek 1.5-litre turbo crossover, launched in South Africa in 2024 and facelifted in August 2026. It was the eighth best-selling Chinese vehicle in the country in the first half of 2026, with 2,222 units sold. The pre-facelift car uses a 115 kW / 230 Nm engine with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission; the facelift moves to 125 kW / 270 Nm with a seven-speed dual-clutch.
The Dashing comes with a strong factory package, but it is finite — and the engine cover doesn’t transfer to a second owner. An extended motor warranty keeps repair costs predictable once the original cover runs out or no longer applies.
Jetour Dashing Factory Warranty and Service Plan — What You Started With
- Vehicle warranty: 5 years / 150,000 km
- Service plan: 5 years / 60,000 km
- Engine warranty: 10 years / 1 million km (first owner only)
These terms apply to both the pre-facelift and facelift cars; confirm them on your specific vehicle with the dealer. The vehicle warranty is only valid if the car is maintained at authorised centres using original parts. Some items carry shorter cover than the headline figure: according to published warranty terms, paint, shock absorbers and generators are covered for 36 months / 60,000 km, the battery for 12 months / 20,000 km, and consumables such as filters and spark plugs for 3 months / 3,000 km. The long engine warranty is limited to the first owner, so a used buyer should confirm what engine cover, if any, still applies to their vehicle.

— = not stated in the sources we reviewed. Reports on the facelift describe the new engine tune and gearbox, but we haven’t found independent testing yet showing whether the pull-off behaviour criticised on the earlier car has improved.
Known Jetour Dashing Problems and Complaints to Date
Here is what has been reported so far. Findings from regulators and road tests are stated as such; owner anecdote is flagged as anecdote. Long-term reliability data is limited because the model is new.
Throttle and DCT calibration (pre-facelift, road-test finding)
A recurring criticism in reviews is poor calibration of the throttle and the six-speed dual-clutch transmission, causing a jerky or hesitant pull-off and an unpleasant drive around town. The engine is also described as lethargic when accelerating or merging into traffic.
Fuel use above the claim (pre-facelift, AutoTrader testing)
Real-world consumption of 9.5 to 10.4 L/100 km was recorded against a claimed 7.8 L/100 km.
Infotainment ergonomics (owner anecdote)
Owners and testers report that essential functions are buried in menus. This is a usability complaint rather than a mechanical fault.
Facelift hardware is unproven
The facelift’s new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and revised engine tune are too new for any long-term data. Whether the earlier calibration complaints are resolved is not yet established by independent testing.
Factory cover has conditions and shorter limits
Warranty validity depends on servicing at authorised centres with original parts, and several items carry much shorter cover than the headline 5-year / 150,000 km figure (see above). The 5-year service plan is limited to 60,000 km, so a high-mileage driver can use it up in around two to three years.
Limited long-term data
AutoTrader’s assessment is that reliability is a work in progress. We found no recall in the sources reviewed, and the brand is too new for meaningful longevity data.

Why a Jetour Dashing Owner Might Want Extended Cover
Buying a used Dashing. Because the 10-year engine warranty is limited to the first owner, a second owner may have far less engine protection than the original buyer. An extended warranty restores a defined level of cover from the day you take ownership.
Reaching 5 years or 150,000 km. Once the vehicle warranty ends, the cost of any transmission, electrical or turbo failure falls on the owner. The earliest 2024 cars reach that point in 2029; high-mileage cars sooner.
Dual-clutch complexity. Both generations of the Dashing use a dual-clutch transmission, a more complex and costly component to repair than a conventional automatic, paired with a turbocharged engine.
