Toyota Land Cruiser & Prado Extended Warranty

The Toyota Land Cruiser and Prado are South Africa’s most aspirational 4x4s — vehicles built to last decades, used hard in remote terrain and trusted with families. But the Land Cruiser’s reputation for indestructibility does not make repairs cheap. Complex diesel V8s, twin-turbo systems and sophisticated terrain management electronics mean a single mechanical failure can cost tens of thousands of rands.
An extended warranty keeps your Land Cruiser or Prado covered against exactly those scenarios — whether you’re driving a well-maintained LC200, a current Prado GD-6 or the new LC300.
What’s covered
Engine & Internals
All internal components across the 3.3 twin-turbo, 4.5 V8 TDi, 2.8 GD-6 and 4.0 V6 engines.
Gearbox & Transfer Case
Automatic gearbox internals, transfer case and diff lock systems.
Electrical & ECU
Engine management, KDSS suspension control, multi-terrain select and all electronic modules.
Cooling System
Water pump, thermostat, radiator, intercooler and coolant hoses — critical on V8 engines.
Fuel System
High-pressure fuel pump, common-rail injectors and fuel pressure regulator.
24/7 Roadside Assistance
Nationwide towing, emergency fuel, lockout and accommodation — including remote area cover.
Known Land Cruiser & Prado failure areas
V8 4.5 TDi injector and high-pressure fuel pump failure is the most significant documented fault on the LC200 V8 diesel. Injector failure on the common-rail V8 contaminates the entire fuel system, requiring injector, pump and fuel rail replacement simultaneously. This is a known mechanical failure — not wear and tear — and is fully covered under an extended warranty.
Prado 2.8 GD-6 turbocharger actuator faults are documented at higher mileages, causing limp mode and power loss. The variable-geometry turbo actuator is an electronic component whose failure is covered in full under extended warranty.
LC300 3.3 twin-turbo diesel is a new engine generation and early field experience is still accumulating. Extended warranty cover provides a critical safety net during this period, covering any unexpected mechanical or electronic failures that emerge on the fleet.
KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System) failures on Prado and LC200 models are expensive — the hydraulic suspension interconnect system is complex and its component failures are covered as mechanical faults under warranty.
