Nissan Qashqai Extended Car Warranty

The Nissan Qashqai is one of South Africa’s most popular compact crossovers — comfortable, efficient and well-equipped. But its turbocharged DIG-T petrol engines and Xtronic CVT carry documented failure areas that become expensive once the factory warranty expires.
An extended motor warranty protects you against the mechanical and electronic faults that matter most on the out-of-warranty Qashqai — keeping repair costs predictable.

Known Nissan Qashqai failure areas
The Qashqai’s DIG-T turbo petrol engines and Xtronic CVT carry well-documented failure areas — none of them wear-and-tear items.
1.2 and 1.3 DIG-T timing chain stretch and carbon build-up is the most significant documented fault on the turbocharged petrol Qashqai. The direct-injection turbo engines are sensitive to oil quality and extended service intervals; timing chain stretch produces a rattle on cold start and, if ignored, can lead to major engine damage. Carbon accumulation on the intake valves is also common on direct-injection engines. Chain, tensioner or valve-cleaning work is a mechanical repair covered under warranty.
Xtronic CVT judder and hesitation is documented across the petrol Qashqai range. The continuously variable transmission can shudder during acceleration, hesitate when pulling away and hunt between ratios — particularly in urban stop-start use. Internal CVT repair or replacement is a significant workshop bill and a genuine mechanical transmission failure.
Turbo wastegate actuator and electronic faults including turbo actuator failure, random warning lights, reverse-camera dropouts and stop/start system faults are documented across the Qashqai range. These are component failures, not service items, and fall under an extended warranty.
