Why an independent BMW service plan makes sense
BMW’s turbocharged engines — the B38, B48 and B58 units found across the 1, 2, 3 and X-Series range — use extended oil service intervals. Skipping or delaying a service on these engines accelerates carbon buildup on intake valves and can lead to timing chain stretch. An extended service plan removes the temptation to delay a service by eliminating the invoice entirely.
