Nissan Navara Extended Car Warranty

The Nissan Navara is a capable, comfortable double-cab bakkie that works hard both on-site and off-road. Its turbodiesel engine and emissions system carry well-documented failure areas that become costly once the factory warranty expires.
An extended motor warranty protects you against the mechanical and emissions-system faults that matter most on the out-of-warranty Navara — keeping repair costs and downtime under control.

Known Nissan Navara failure areas
The Navara’s 2.5-litre YD25 and later 2.3-litre YS23 turbodiesel engines share a set of documented failure areas — none of them wear-and-tear items.
EGR valve carbon fouling and failure is one of the most documented faults on the Navara turbodiesel. The exhaust gas recirculation valve accumulates carbon deposits over time, causing rough idle, loss of power, increased smoke and the engine entering limp mode. EGR valve or cooler replacement is a mechanical component repair — not a service item — and is covered under an extended motor warranty.
Turbo actuator and DPF faults are documented across the range. The variable-geometry turbo actuator can seize or lose calibration, producing boost faults and limp mode, while the diesel particulate filter can block from short-run duty cycles and failed regeneration. Both are genuine component failures covered under warranty.
Timing chain stretch on higher-mileage YD25 engines produces a rattle on cold start; left unattended it can cause valve-timing faults and further engine damage. Chain and tensioner replacement is a mechanical repair covered under an extended warranty.
